Staffordshire large Pearlware Childs mug with verses about friends. On one side reads “Come my old friend and take a pot. But mark now what I say, while that thou drinkest thy neighbors health. Drink not thine own away. It but too often is the case. While we sit oer a pot. We kindly wish our friends good health. Our own is quite forgot” on the reverse “In conversation with a friend, a social hour to pass I’ll not forget my latter end. how swift is time alas. With caution walk out future way, our work will soon be done. Let friendship reign while here we stay, and evil speak of none”.
