An amazing collection of 67 pieces of the America and Independence Series or the States Pattern.

From the Historical Staffordshire American Patriots and Views book written by Jeffrey B Snyder on page 42: "America and Independence Series. This is a dark blue printed series with a woman on either side for the central, frequently romantic, view. To the left the woman holds up an image of Washington. This woman is blindfolded, symbolic of justice. The kneeling woman to the right wears the Liberty Cap and holds the Liberty Pole. The names of 15 states in festoons create the border. The largely romantic views are mostly given descriptive names including: Sheep on Lawn; Mansion, Foreground A Lake With Swans; Three Story Mansion, Small Extension to the Left; Three story Building, Tow Wings and Center Section; Two Story Building with curved Drive, building in Distance women in foreground; castle with Flag, boats in foreground; mansion, small boat with flag in foreground building, two wings, water in foreground; mansion, circular drive, mansion, winding drive."

This collection has a variety of views for the center scene but all have the wonderful states border and are made by James and Ralph Clews circa 1825. Included in this grouping are:

Gravy boat measuring 8" by 5" that does have a crack on the bottom of it

Bowl measuring 9 1/2" by 4 3/4" in good condition

Bowl measuring 12" in diameter by 4" tall with a crows foot and repair

Bowl measuring 14 1/2" diameter by 4 1/2" deep with crows feet, 3 hairlines, and foot rim chips

Beaded Rim Bowl measuring10 1/2" diameter 2 1/4" deep with chips to the beading

Pitcher measuring 9" handle to spout by 10" tall that does have a spout chip

Pitcher measuring 6" by 4 3/4" with a repaired spout

Pitcher measuring 8" by 7" tall that has been repaired

Pitcher measuring 5 1/2" by 5" tall that does have a chip

Pitcher measuring 8 1/2" handle to spout by 7 1/2" tall in good condition

Open Vegetable Dish measuring 7 3/4" by 5 3/4" by 1 1/2" deep in good condition

Open Vegetable Dish measuring 9 1/2" by 7" by 2" deep that does have a hairline

Open Vegetable Dish measuring 11" by 8 1/2" by 2 1/2" that is repaired

Open Vegetable Dish measuring 12 1/4" by 9 1/4" by 2 1/2" and is repaired

Covered Vegetable measuring 12 1/4" by 9 1/2" by 2" in good condition

Platter measuring 10 5/8" by 8 3/4" with a possible repair

Platter measuring 14 5/8" by 12 1/4" in good condition

10- soup plates measuring 10 1/2" in diameter

10- dinner plates measuring 10 1/4" in diameter

10- bread plates measuring 6 3/4" in diameter

10- salad plates measuring 7 7/8" in diameter

10- dessert plates measuring 8 7/8" in diameter

This lot is a wonderful way to start off a great looking collection that will look gorgeous adorning and set up on your table.
