Historical Blue Staffordshire plate measuring 7" in diameter reading: "General LaFayette Welcome to the Land of Liberty He was born at Auvergne in France 1757 joined the American struggle in 1777 and in 1824 returned to repose in the bosom of the land whose liberty he in part gave birth to." Has a portrait of Lafayette in the middle and a floral embossed rim. Back is impressed A. Stevenson and is circa 1830. Very rare plate in mint condition. Please inquire for full condition report.
